Relatives hold mass prayer at sea to remember Indonesia jet crash victims
Hundreds of grieving relatives have held a mass prayer in the middle of the Java sea to commemorate the victims of the Indonesia Lion Air jet crash.
Tearful mourners were taken to the crash site aboard a pair of Indonesian navy vessels, where they paid their respects as they tossed bouquets and sprinkled flower petals into the water. Over a week after the incident, many families are still facing an agonising wait for their missing loved ones to be identified.
The Indonesian Lion Air jet directed to Pangkal Pinang city, on Sumatra island, plunged into the sea minutes after taking off from Jakarta on October 29. All 189 people on board were killed.
The cause of the crash is still unknown, and only 14 victims have been identified so far.Source: Google News Indonesia | Netizen 24 Indonesia
